Ashland Specialty Ingredients, GP

Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity Engineerto join our Ashland LLC business at our Hopewell, VA. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the maintenance function. This position will report to Maintenance Manager.

**Please note: This is not AI Software Engineer role. This is an Asset, Integrity and Reliability Maintenance Engineer.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Own and maintain the site Asset Integrity Management (AIM) program for pressure vessels, piping systems, and atmospheric storage tanks in compliance with API 510, API 570, and API 653 requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight of mechanical integrity programs, including inspection planning, riskbased inspection (RBI), corrosion monitoring, and evaluation of inspection results.
  • Perform and facilitate reliability engineering activities, including equipment criticality analysis, badactor elimination, and root cause analysis (RCA) to improve longterm asset performance.
  • Evaluate damage mechanisms, degradation trends, and conduct or review fitnessforservice (FFS) assessments to support continued safe operation.
  • Translate integrity and reliability findings into actionable maintenance strategies, work scopes, outage plans, and capital or repair recommendations.
  • Develop, maintain, and audit engineering standards, inspection procedures, and asset documentation aligned with API codes and corporate requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for thirdparty inspectors, NDE vendors, and repair contractors; review reports and ensure codecompliant execution.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Planning, and Leadership teams to drive safe, reliable, and costeffective asset performance improvements.
  • Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals, and focusing on performance and safety

  • Improve the organization's capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent, and utilizing positive communications and influence with others

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering

  • 5-8 years in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry supporting Fixed Equipment/Asset Integrity and Reliability

  • API 510, 570, and 653 Certification preferred

  • Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times
