Job Overview As a Fire Technician (Suppression/Kitchen hood/Extinguisher), you9ll conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure fire systems meet all required safety standards. You9ll also work closely with customers, educating them on proper system use and providing exceptional service.
This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a background in fire system installation, inspection, and repair who values precision and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Inspection and Maintenance - Conduct detailed inspections pre-engineered kitchen hood suppression systems.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure all fire suppression equipment is functional and compliant with state, local, and national codes.
- Document all inspections, maintenance, and repairs accurately and promptly.
System Installation and Repair - Install new fire suppression systems and components as needed.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning or damaged systems, ensuring operational effectiveness.
- Respond to emergency service calls to provide timely assistance.
Customer Support and Collaboration - Educate customers on the proper use and maintenance of fire suppression systems.
- Work collaboratively with the fire protection team to deliver high-quality service and maintain safety compliance.
Who You Are We9re looking for a hands-on professional with technical expertise and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
- Experienced: At least 1 year of experience in fire system installation, inspection, and maintenance (kitchen hood suppression systems preferred).
- Licensed: Fire Suppression License for Pre-Engineered Commercial Hood Systems preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of power and hand tools, with a strong understanding of fire safety codes.
- Problem-Solver: Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Customer-Focused: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to educate and support clients.
- Physically Capable: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Driver9s License: Valid license and reliable transportation required.
Your First 90 Days with Us First 30 Days - Participate in orientation and training to understand company protocols, tools, and client expectations.
- Shadow senior inspectors to learn workflows and gain hands-on experience.
- Begin conducting basic inspections under supervision.
Next 30 Days (60 Days Total) - Take ownership of assigned inspections and maintenance tasks.
- Develop proficiency with system repairs and installations.
- Build relationships with customers and team members to foster trust and collaboration.
By 90 Days - Independently manage inspection schedules and system repairs with confidence.
- Proactively identify opportunities for workflow improvements.
- Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights and contributing to operational strategies.
