Full Job Description
Opportunity: Join Cerence AI as a FinOps Developer responsible for driving visibility, accountability, and optimization of cloud infrastructure spend across a global Azure-first environment. This role builds, evolves, and maintains tools that improve Cerence's cost transparency, accountability, and operational excellence. In your first year, you will modernize data pipelines, enhance cost accountability, build automation, and establish scalable FinOps processes that place Cerence among the most cost-effective businesses in the industry.

Daily Functions / Responsibilities:
• Manage and improve cloud cost reporting across environments like Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Define, design, implement, ship, and maintain operationally excellent tooling as part of processes like budgeting, variance analysis, anomaly detection, and executive reporting.
• Maintain, enhance, and migrate data pipelines, reporting models, dashboards, and automation supporting FinOps operations.
• Evolve cost allocation through improvements to labeling, tagging, allocation, showback, and chargeback processes.
• Support cost optimization initiatives and drive efficiency improvements.
• Manage reporting and analytics solutions including SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cloud financial accountability and governance.
• Build an organizational foundation of team data by documenting operational, development, deployment, and collaboration processes.
• Use artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate and automate tasks and processes such as cross-functional campaigns, job duties, operational resolution, and monitoring.
• Ensure continuity of FinOps tooling, reports, and capabilities.

Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud engineering, cloud operations, or related technical disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of cost management through tooling like native Azure, AWS, and GCP services and third-party tooling like CloudZero, Vantage, or CloudHealth.
• Experience with SQL, data analysis, reporting platforms, and dashboard development (Power BI preferred).
• Experience supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, or cost optimization initiatives.
• Clear communication skills and proven ability to translate verbal and written interactions into requirements and deliverables.
• Experience with data pipelines on platforms like Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Kubecost, Python, or equivalent data and cloud financial management frameworks.

Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Equivalent practical experience developing edge and embedded applications will also be considered.

  • Salary range $86,450.00 USD - $129,675.00 USD It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. The actual salary will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors.
