Full Job Description
The leader in Accounting Center & Transactional Data owns the design, integrity, and governance of transactional accounting processes within Workday Accounting Center. This role ensures business events are accurately translated into accounting entries through defined rules, mappings, and data structures. The position partners with Accounting, Finance, and IT to support financial close, maintain data accuracy, and drive continuous improvement in automated accounting processes. Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities

  • Owns accounting logic and transactional design within Accounting Center
    • Defines and governs accounting rules, mappings, and event types that determine how transactions are recorded
    • Translates business events (e.g., claims, premiums, adjustments) into standardized accounting outcomes
    • Ensures accounting logic aligns with financial reporting requirements and general ledger structures

  • Manages end-to-end transactional data flows into the general ledger
    • Oversees transaction ingestion, transformation, and posting from source systems through Accounting Center to the general ledger
    • Ensures data completeness, accuracy, and traceability across systems
    • Maintains alignment between source system data, Accounting Center outputs, and GL balances

  • Ensures reconciliation and integrity of automated accounting
    • Establishes and enforces reconciliation standards between source systems, Accounting Center, and the general ledger
    • Partners with Accounting and Core Financials teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies
    • Identifies root causes of recurring issues and implements sustainable solutions

  • Manages system enhancements and integrations
    • Owns and prioritizes Accounting Center enhancement roadmap, including new use cases, rules, and integrations
    • Identifies opportunities to improve automation, reduce manual intervention, and enhance scalability
    • Identifies and evaluates new Workday functionality and features that support evolving finance needs
    • Supports testing, validation, and deployment of changes to accounting logic and data flows

  • Maintains financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness
    • Maintains documentation of accounting rules, data mappings, and control points
    • Supports audit requirements related to automated accounting and transaction processing
    • Ensures adherence to financial reporting standards and internal control requirements


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 10+ year of work experience beyond degree

  • 5+ years Workday and/or Health Payer Financial Reporting Management experience


This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, 3 days per week.

The full salary grade for this position is $113,400 - $194,400. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $113,400 - $170,100. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
