DescriptionIf another position becomes available within five months of this recruitment's closing date, the applicant pool from this posting may be used to fill additional vacancies.The Finance Division in the Monmouth Vicinage is seeking a self-directed, organized, analytical accounting professional to work under the general direction of division management. We are looking for candidates with excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong knowledge of financial and internal control processes; ability to work with others to achieve goals; and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
The selected candidate's primary responsibilities will be in the areas of bank and system reconciliations and disbursement processing. The candidate will also assist with the purchase of commodities.
NOTE: This position is primarily located in Freehold but may be asked to assist in Ocean Township location due to operational needs.
REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Perform cash control functions (daily cash register cash outs, deposit preparations and reconciliations)
• Prepare, reconcile and submit financial reports
• Interpret accounting, financial, or statistical data
• Act as a liaison and/or establish working relationships with divisions, vicinages, or other outside organizations
• Monitor, screen, and prepare disbursements
• Process vendor payments and employee reimbursements
• Prepare and enter accounting entries
• Analyze requisitions, vouchers, bank statements, or financial transactions
• Interpret accounting, financial, or statistical data
• Purchase Commodities
• Provide cross-training to co-workers; for example, demonstrate to other staff how you perform your work
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
• Participate in team/work unit meetings
• Perform other duties as may be assigned
QualificationsGraduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, statistics, mathematics, data analytics and/or financial related courses. Six of these credit hours must be in accounting.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education, but do possess the 21 accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, statistics, mathematics, data analytics and/or financial related courses, including six accounting credit hours, may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
