Overview

The Financial Reporting Manager position sits within Corporate Accounting and is responsible for supporting the completion of quarterly and annual reporting requirements, supporting the monthly close process, and preparing accurate and timely financial reporting deliverables. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational, communication, and management skills. The candidate should be self-motivated with a strong understanding of financial reporting and technical accounting and is passionate about delivering quality results and driving continual improvement in a dynamic business environment. This role requires extensive interaction and coordination with various functional areas within the Company including investor relations, legal, financial planning, treasury, international operations, tax, payroll, and technical accounting. This role provides opportunities to deepen technical accounting and financial reporting expertise, gain exposure to complex transactions and senior leadership, and take on increasing responsibility as the organization evolves. The position requires a team member who is flexible, hard-working, and able to work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment. This is a hybrid, two days a week in-office, position based in Providence, RI and is an individual contributor role reporting to the Financial Reporting Senior Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and contributes to the preparation of the following:
    • Annual U.S. GAAP Form 20-F filing with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC),
    • Quarterly 6-K (10-Q like) financial reports,
    • IFRS U.K. consolidated report,
    • IFRS stand-alone U.K. parent report,
    • Offering memorandums for debt issuance
    • Other annual reporting packages provided to the Company's principal shareholder.
  • Ownership of certain footnotes.
  • Supports the creation of and adherence to the financial close calendar to inform parties of necessary deadlines.
  • Prepares support to be provided to Investor Relations and CFO related to earnings releases, analyst meetings, and analyst conference calls.
  • Assist in the coordination of annual audit, quarterly reviews, and periodic audit activities of internal and external auditors.
  • Understands and implements new accounting guidance as a result of U.S. GAAP and IFRS guidance changes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements,
  • Provides ad hoc reporting, analysis, or assists in other projects as needed as part of the larger corporate accounting organization.
  • Workiva administration including system ownership and user maintenance.
  • Stock compensation accounting
    • Preparation of monthly expense entries,
    • Vesting entries.
  • Other projects assigned by the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance.
  • CPA certification, active license status strongly preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience, public accounting experience (big four preferred).
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS, and SEC reporting standards
  • Experience within a multinational publicly traded business and exposure to foreign currency transactions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills as well as ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate, guide, and interact professionally with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the organization to drive sound business decisions.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work, ability to multi-task efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Office.
  • SAP/Central Finance experience, other large ERP, and Workiva software experience is a plus.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $110,000 - $115,000. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
