The RoleWe9re hiring someone to own the financial and business operations behind Wonderly.
Accounting is roughly a third of the role. You9ll make sure vendors get paid correctly, coordinate month-end close with our external accountants, and keep tax requirements and financial systems organized. The rest spans contracts, procurement, insurance, equity administration, and the operational problems that come with a growing company.
We want someone with an accounting foundation who wants broad business ownership. You should be comfortable investigating an unfamiliar charge, working through a vendor renewal, coordinating with outside counsel, and building a process so the same issue is easier next time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Accounting operations: Validate invoices, collect vendor documentation, coordinate approvals, and schedule payments.
- Month-end close: Keep close notes, provide supporting information to our accountants, investigate discrepancies, and flag unusual transactions.
- Tax coordination: Keep filings, registrations, notices, and year-end reporting moving with our external providers.
- Financial systems: Maintain tools such as Stripe, Subscript, Hubifi, and QuickBooks as the business changes.
- Contracts and procurement: Coordinate agreements with business owners and counsel, negotiate vendor terms, and track commitments and renewals.
- Corporate operations: Manage insurance renewals, routine equity administration, corporate records, registrations, and incoming notices.
- Process improvement: Document recurring work, establish clear owners and deadlines, and work with our internal team to automate repetitive tasks.
You9ll have recurring responsibilities and unexpected problems. You9re accountable for closing the loop on both.
What Makes This Role DifferentYou9ll work directly with our CTO or CEO and see how decisions get made across the company.
Your accounting knowledge will give you a starting point, but your scope will extend across finance, legal, procurement, and corporate operations. You9ll work with accountants, lawyers, brokers, vendors, and internal teams-and be responsible for making sure work gets finished.
You9ll also have room to improve how the company operates. When something takes ten manual steps, we want you to question it, understand the constraints, and help build a better system.
As you become someone the company trusts with increasingly complex problems, your responsibilities can grow with you.
