Description

The Financial Analyst, Sales Compensation position plays a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely administration of sales compensation programs for Natixis US Distribution. This position is responsible for commission calculations, sales credit validation, accruals, reporting, and inquiry resolution, while partnering closely with Finance, Sales Management, Accounting, Data Enablement, and Human Resources to support business objectives and maintain compensation plan integrity.

In addition to administering critical compensation processes, the analyst will contribute to reporting, process improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and analytical projects that drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in sales compensation while gaining broad exposure to Finance, Sales, Operations, and Compensation Administration. The successful candidate will play a meaningful role in advancing process improvements and delivering analytical insights that support business growth and decision-making.

This position is based in our Boston office and follows a hybrid work model. Team members currently work in the office a minimum of three days per week, with an anticipated transition to four in-office days per week beginning in 2027. The position reports to a member of the Sales Reporting & Analysis team within Finance.

What you will do:
  • Administer Natixis US Distribution's monthly sales compensation process, including commission calculations, validation, approvals, and delivery of finalized results for payroll processing.
  • Analyze sales and commission results for Finance and Sales Management and develop recurring and ad hoc reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Manage the monthly commission accrual process, including calculations, analysis, and presentation of results to Finance and Accounting leadership.
  • Research and resolve wholesaler inquiries related to commission payments, sales crediting, trade attribution, territory assignments, and other compensation-related matters.
  • Partner with Sales Management, Data Enablement, Accounting, Human Resources, and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve compensation and reporting discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audits related to commission calculations, compensation plans, and financial controls.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for commission plan calculations, commission administration processes, and the organization's commission management platform (currently Xactly Incent).
  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, artificial intelligence, and analytical tools to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of commission administration processes.
  • Recommend and support the implementation of operational and reporting enhancements that improve controls, reduce risk, and create process efficiencies.
  • Support broader Finance reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed.

What you will bring:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Finance, Accounting, Sales Operations, Compensation Administration, or a related analytical function.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and large dataset analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and work with large volumes of data accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build effective working relationships with business partners.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience calculating sales compensation or incentive compensation programs.
  • Experience with Xactly Incent or similar incentive compensation management platforms.
  • Experience supporting financial reporting, accruals, or business analytics.
  • Experience within financial services, asset management, wealth management, or distribution organizations.
  • Exposure to automation, process improvement, business intelligence, or AI-enabled analytical tools.

In accordance with the Massachusetts Wage transparency act, the expected annual base salary for this Boston, MA, based position is $74,160 - $100,940. Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other Natixis sponsored benefit programs.
