Full Job Description
Finance Business Partner

ROLE:

This role serves as an embedded finance business partner supporting Waupaca Foundry's functional business leaders including Supply Chain, Operations, Capital/Engineering purchasing, and Commercial/Sales. This person owns the relationship with their assigned business area(s) and is expected to translate operational reality into structured financial analysis, business cases, and capital requests not simply provide financial inputs to someone else's decision.

Functional assignment will be based on business need and the candidate's background and strengths and may flex or expand over time as the team grows.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Partnership
• Serve as a thought partner & financial expert to the executives and teams within your assigned functional area(s)
• Own the outcomes of the analysis you produce, investigate pitfalls and upsides on your own terms rather than waiting to be asked
• Go to primary sources: spend time on the floor or with the relevant team, read the contracts, schedule conversations with other departments, and research the technical or commercial aspects of your projects as needed
• Be generally available to support business unit leaders who need help thinking through and modeling solutions

Analysis & Business Case Development
• Translate complex, ambiguous business questions into structured, actionable analysis
• Prepare and own board-ready capital requests, business cases, and financial presentations
• Frame financial questions in operational or commercial terms and vice versa
• Financially model business cases
• Reach defensible conclusions when working with messy or unstructured data

Execution & Ownership
• Self-orient and drive work to completion without oversight
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with a high degree of personal accountability
• Use AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to support your work - these tools do not replace critical thinking, and all outputs must be owned as if they were your own

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field from an accredited four (4) year college or university; MBA a plus but not required
• 3-10+ years in FP&A, Consulting, Analytics; experience within a business unit of a manufacturing organization is a plus
• Experience with cross-functional partnering and creating or owning board-level presentations

Power BI, AS400 and/or SAP experience preferred but not required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• Strong business acumen and polished communication skills; capable of holding your own with executives
• Excellent project management skills and high personal accountability
• Comfortable with ambiguity and messy, unstructured data
• On-site 5 days per week, Waupaca, WI
• If selected for consideration, candidates must successfully complete a selection process that includes a screening, 2 interviews, a case study & presentation, reference check/verification, and a pre-employment drug screen

BENEFITS:
Waupaca Foundry offers competitive wages and exceptional benefits, including:

  • Medical, dental, vision
  • Short and long term disability
  • Life insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Employer funded retirement plan
  • Paid vacations/holidays
