Compensation - $110,000 - $135,000 DOE Position Summary The Field Supervisor works directly alongside Titan's field technicians, apprentices, and interns - making sure they're supplied and prepared, showing up on job sites regularly, auditing the quality of the work, confirming procedures and protocols are actually being followed, and giving hands-on feedback, training, and coaching. This is a field-first role built on strong technical judgment and even stronger people skills - someone who can flex to whatever a project, a client, or a team member needs on a given day, and who genuinely enjoys developing the people around them. What This Role Is - and Isn't This is a field leadership role, not a corporate management role. There's no budget ownership, no departmental staffing plans, no org-chart building. What it is: a title and pay grade that reflect real expertise, paired with the day-to-day work of being present on-site, being the technical expert people trust, and coaching the next generation of field staff to be great at what they do. Work Environment This is a full-time, field-based position with regular travel to job sites, client locations, and occupied buildings throughout Southern California. PPE is required at applicable sites. The role involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or carrying of equipment up to 50 pounds. Key Responsibilities Supplies & Field Readiness • Ensure apprentices, interns, and field technicians have the supplies, PPE, and equipment they need before every job. • Track inventory proactively and restock before shortages become a problem on-site. • Keep sampling and monitoring equipment organized, calibrated, and ready to deploy. On-Site Presence & Adaptability • Show up to job sites regularly and consistently - visible, available, and engaged, not just when something's wrong. • Be the first call for field staff with questions, judgment calls, or a technical second opinion. • Adapt to the needs of each site, client, and team member - jumping in hands-on wherever it makes the biggest difference that day. Quality Control & Reviews • Audit field work for quality: sampling technique, documentation accuracy, chain of custody, photo logs, and daily field notes. • Conduct regular field reviews and performance check-ins with technicians, apprentices, and interns. • Confirm Titan's procedures and protocols are being followed in practice, not just documented on paper. • Identify recurring quality or process issues early and work directly with staff to correct them. Training, Feedback & Coaching • Deliver real-time, in-the-field feedback - not just annual reviews. • Lead hands-on training for new and developing field staff, reinforcing proper technique, protocol, and professionalism. • Support technicians and apprentices working toward their own IH, asbestos, and lead certifications. • When a training or performance issue comes up, coach through it directly, patiently, and constructively. Technical & Content Expertise • Serve as the go-to subject matter resource for field staff on technical, regulatory, and procedural questions. • Stay current on regulatory changes and translate them into practical guidance for the field team. • Represent Titan's technical standards and judgment when questions come up on-site with clients or building occupants. Regulatory & Technical Knowledge You'll be expected to apply and reinforce working knowledge of California industry-standard requirements, including: • EPA NESHAP • AHERA • Cal/OSHA Title 8 asbestos (1529) and lead (1532.1) standards • Federal OSHA General Industry and Construction standards • SCAQMD Rule 1403 (and equivalent rules for other CA Air Districts) • California Air District notification requirements • Industrial hygiene and exposure assessment methodology Safety • Model safe work practices on every site, every time - your presence sets the standard. • Speak up immediately on unsafe conditions or practices, and coach the team through corrections in the moment. • Reinforce proper PPE use, exposure controls, and Titan's overall safety culture through daily field leadership. What Success Looks Like • Field staff consistently have the supplies and support they need to do the job right. • Quality reviews show steady improvement in documentation, technique, and protocol adherence. • Apprentices and interns are progressing toward their certifications with real, consistent support. • Field staff know they can come to you with a question and get a straight, useful answer. • Safety incidents and near-misses trend down; safe practices are visibly the norm. Requirements Qualifications Required Certifications Titan requires the same core industrial hygiene certifications for this role as our senior field IH professionals hold: • Cal/OSHA Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) • Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) • Lead Inspector/Assessor Certification (CDPH-accredited) • OSHA 30-Hour Certification Required Experience & Skills • 3+ years of hands-on field experience in industrial hygiene, asbestos, lead, or environmental consulting. • Strong, natural people skills - approachable, patient, and direct in a way people actually respond to. • A genuine interest in coaching, mentoring, and developing less experienced staff. • Comfort with variety and change - every day, site, and client can look different, and you adapt without missing a beat. • Sharp eye for quality and process, with the follow-through to actually fix what you find. • Valid California Driver's License and ability to travel to project sites regularly. Preferred (Nice to Have, Not Required) • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or progress toward CIH certification. • HAZWOPER 40-Hour Certification. • Mold assessment credential (e.g., CMC, CIEC) or moisture intrusion experience. • Prior experience training, mentoring, or directly supervising apprentices or junior field staff. • Experience working across multiple California Air District jurisdictions. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) - a strong plus for field communication across Titan's crews and clients.
