Project Overview:

The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S.

This project is of significant scale and complexity, and our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year.

The candidate may start in the home office in Reston, Houston or Cheyenne, Wyoming, as single status, to support preconstruction planning, ahead of project mobilization to the field when the candidate will locate to Cheyenne, Wyoming. This position is contingent upon project award. #LI-SP1

Job Summary:

The Civil Superintendent (CCGT) is responsible for managing and executing subcontractors and direct-hire civil construction activities, coordinating work planning and schedules, and ensuring safe, quality delivery in compliance with project requirements, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. Reporting to Lead Civil Field Superintendent or Area Field Superintendent.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
  • Monitors and organizes direct hire/subcontractor activities.
  • Prepares construction drawings and sketches with Field Engineers.
  • Develops planning construction methods and procedures.
  • Develops projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements.
  • Reviews installation work packages with foreman and general foreman.
  • Participates in the development of level 4 and level 5 project schedules.
  • Reports and reviews installed quantities to Field Engineering for verification and quantity claiming
  • Prepares reports and forecasts, as required, and keeps supervisors informed on progress of overall assigned activities.
  • Monitors construction schedules, cost, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Ensure work methods are planned and executed safely.

Safety/Quality
  • Ensures Zero Accident Philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
  • Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.

Technical
  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
  • Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
  • Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
  • Develops Commodity Installation means and methods.
  • Develops an understanding of industry and International Codes & Standards applicable to work scope.
  • Utilizes and leverages applicable automation software and processes as applicable.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or other relevant technical disciplines from an accredited university as well as a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant work experience, or 9-12 years relevant experience in the absence of a degree.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in civil construction on large projects.
  • Technical knowledge of concrete construction means and methods for large placements including mass concrete and general construction work.
  • Knowledge of construction technologies.
  • Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
  • Sound communication skills.
  • Sound interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of cost management includes estimating and forecast development.
