Field Service Technician - Knelson Product Line

This Field Service Technician position is responsible for FLS products, specifically Knelson globally.

The primary responsibilities of the role are to support our existing installation base, increase market share in core markets, and grow new market opportunities.

This is an individual contributor role working within our team structure reporting to the Product Manager, Gold Concentrations.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Establish strategies to protect the installed base of FLS and ensure the customers are supported technically and operationally within the broader FLS products & Site Sales support networks.
  • Provides hands-on mechanical service and customer support during field visits or dispatches of Knelson products
  • Manages all on site installation, commissioning, configuring, repair, maintenance and test tasks, typically of a more complex nature of the Knelson product line
  • Performs equipment mechanical health-check at site, and generate site visit reports accordingly with recommendations / actions.
  • Diagnoses errors or technical problems and determines proper solutions
  • Provides advisory support to operations / maintenance site staff and management
  • Researches, evaluates, and recommends new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs
  • Develops on-going relationships with customers to secure future business
  • Perform mechanical training onsite for client and internal personal
  • Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company's operational activities

What you bring:
  • 7+ years of mechanical experience, preferably in mining, heavy industry, or rotating equipment. A college diploma or degree in a technical field is an asset but not required.
  • A level of understanding of FLS Knelson or competitor products will be highly regarded.
  • Hands-on experience working with mining processing equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a knack for solving mechanical issues under pressure.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and credibility both internally and with external clients with strong customer service skills & technical solutions.
    • Demonstrated business acumen to develop realistic business plans with stretch targets and the clear plan to reach those targets.
    • Negotiation skills and demonstrated experience in conducting successful negotiations as a company representative.
    • Sales skills with the ability to close deals and willingness to collaborate with local sales team.
    • Ability to work in a team or individually on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, along with communicate well with clients and teammates, and represent the company professionally on site.
    • Computer experience using standard MS Office suite of programs is required.
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
    • Travel, globally, is required in this role. Volumes will vary based on the requirements, but 50% to 75% of time should be expected.
