The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Project Manager who is travel-ready and capable of overseeing day-to-day equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning activities on-site for active projects. This role is crucial to ensuring smooth project execution, maintaining timelines, and managing the coordination between various teams, vendors, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing service projects, from installation through commissioning, and will be proficient in ensuring that all activities meet technical specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.

What you will do?
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all on-site project activities, managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning processes.
  • Lead the coordination and execution of equipment installation and start-up activities. Work closely with technicians and engineers to ensure that the project scope is properly implemented, and systems are installed and functioning correctly.
  • Oversee commissioning activities to ensure that all systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, generators, etc.) are tested, calibrated, and fully operational. Ensure proper documentation of commissioning procedures and results.
  • Develop and manage project schedules to ensure all phases of the project are completed on time. Track milestones and coordinate tasks to keep the project moving forward as planned.
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including installation teams, technicians, subcontractors, and engineers. Ensure clear communication and resolve any challenges or delays.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and key stakeholders on-site. Provide regular project updates, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project.
  • Monitor the quality of work on-site, ensuring compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company procedures. Conduct site inspections and audits to verify adherence to all quality and safety protocols.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the installation or commissioning phases. Provide solutions to minimize delays and ensure successful project completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of all project-related activities, including progress reports, change orders, work orders, and safety documentation. Submit regular updates to project leadership on the status of the project.

Ensure the project stays within budget, managing resources effectively and minimizing waste. Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure the timely availability of materials and equipment.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning activities in industrial or commercial settings.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to multiple project sites as needed. Position requires being stationed on-site for active projects for extended periods.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience managing schedules, resources, budgets, and teams. PMP or similar project management certifications are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the technical aspects of equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning processes.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate multiple activities, and motivate diverse groups toward achieving project goals.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site and provide effective solutions quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations for on-site work, with a commitment to ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the data center, construction, or energy sectors is preferred.
  • Familiarity with systems such as HVAC, electrical, generators, or similar is highly desirable.
