Job Description
We are seeking a motivated
Field Engineer to join our team for an exciting
Project Management Consultant Services (PMC) for ADA Accessibility Upgrades and Station Renewal (A37806 - Package 6 and A37811 - Package 7) project in the Bronx, New York. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work on major transportation infrastructure initiatives and contribute to the accessibility, renewal, and improvement of transit stations throughout the Bronx. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of civil engineering experience, particularly in transportation, infrastructure, or station renewal projects, with experience in ADA accessibility compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the planning, design, construction, and field engineering activities associated with ADA Accessibility Upgrades and Station Renewal projects in the Bronx.
- Review and assist in the development of design plans, specifications, and engineering reports, ensuring compliance with ADA accessibility standards.
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to ensure that construction activities adhere to approved design requirements, specifications, and ADA accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, inspectors, contractors, and other project team members to address engineering challenges and assist with technical problem-solving.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, design consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.
- Support the preparation and review of project documentation, including progress reports, RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, inspection reports, and other project records.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as MTA design, construction, safety, and accessibility requirements.
- Assist in the review and coordination of contractor work plans, schedules, submittals, and change orders.
- Monitor construction progress and assist in identifying potential issues, delays, deficiencies, and conflicts that may impact project quality or schedule.
- Provide field engineering support to the PMC project management team and assist with coordination between field activities, design requirements, and project specifications.
- Assist with documenting field conditions and coordinating the resolution of construction and design-related issues.
Job Requirements
Job RequirementsRequired Skills and Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in transportation, infrastructure, station renewal, or public works projects.
- ADA accessibility experience, including the review, design, construction, or inspection of accessibility improvements for public infrastructure.
- Familiarity with MTA design and construction standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure design, construction processes, field inspection, and applicable regulations, including ADA requirements.
- Ability to perform site inspections and support field engineering and construction management activities.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and coordinate with contractors, consultants, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal building codes, accessibility requirements, and construction regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:- Previous experience working on MTA projects, particularly ADA accessibility upgrades, station renewal, or transportation infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience supporting Project Management Consultant (PMC) services.
- Experience working on Bronx transportation or station infrastructure projects.
- MTA Track Training Certificate.
- PMG 1, 2, and 3 certifications/training.
- Experience with construction inspection, contractor coordination, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and change orders.
Salary: $55 - $60 per hour
