Field Construction Coordinator (FCC)

TechServ is seeking a Field Construction Coordinator (FCC) to join our rapidly growing team. About the Role:

The Field Construction Coordinator will be responsible for performing duties and assignments associated with the construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station facilities. The Field Construction Coordinator will provide construction site management for the Transmission Station and/or Line construction projects to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and Client Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for coordinating contractor's duties and assignments associated with the construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station Facilities.
  • Review the Client Company's Plans, Drawings, and Specifications for constructability prior to the start of construction and report potential constructability issues.
  • Provide construction site coordination to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.
    • Generate standard and ad-hoc construction progress reports as requested by the client.

    • Provide quality performance feedback on contractors, materials, and equipment.
  • Material Management duties as they relate to the transmission construction coordination, inspection, receipt, and delivery of material and equipment to the construction site.
    • Inspect and check materials for shortages, timeliness, damages, and correctness. Prepare reports for appropriate corrective actions and coordinate delivery of materials to the job site.
  • Coordinate required outages with the responsible Operation Center and arrange for or accept Operating Orders from the Dispatching Authority as required.
  • Maintain construction oversight for OSHA compliance requirements in accordance with the company's construction compliance oversight program.
  • Provide estimates as requested to allow authorization of station or line transmission construction work by contract forces, including verification of work performed.
  • Work and communicate with the entire Project Team to contribute to the successful completion of the project.

Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in electric transmission line and/or substation construction (Construction supervision is a plus)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours and travel to remote project locations as needed
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment and ongoing screening requirements, including drug testing, background checks, and motor vehicle record reviews
  • Valid driver's license


Preferred Qualifications:
  • First Aid/AED/CPR Certification
  • OSHA 30 Certification


Physical Requirements:
  • Work is performed outdoors with exposure to weather including and not limited to excessive heat, excessive cold, and extreme weather conditions
  • Requires standing and walking continuously throughout the day
  • Frequent driving over long distances in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to meet the physical and cognitive requirements to operate a vehicle safely, including maintaining alertness and orientation while driving
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50+ pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions to meet deadlines and company needs
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment


Reports to: Lead Field Construction Coordinator (Lead FCC)

Job Type: Full-time, Hourly Non-Exempt

Territory: Big Springs, Lubbock, Midland, Odessa, and Pecos
Travel: Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory required

Schedule: Project dependent (will vary based off project schedule and requirements)
