Full Job Description
Sartorius has a remote-based position for a Field Application Specialist, covering downstream bioprocessing, based in the San Francisco Bay area. This position will be home office based but requires onsite support for existing customers in the region.

As the Field Application Specialist, you will be responsible for offering overall product expertise, application knowledge and technical support along each step of the customer process for the Separations technologies portfolio.

What you will accomplish together with us:
  • Support the Sales organization on existing products through product presentations, demonstrations, application studies, and products in close collaboration with product management through beta sites testing and demonstrations.
  • Support Sales in the customer process and URS analysis, and generate application trials to help optimize products in line with the application requirements.
  • Assist customers for first product installation and initial start-up and ensure the training of the customer.
  • Support the Quality Department in the quality complaint process by troubleshooting and analyzing customer processes for better investigation and resolution.
  • Report on competitors' products and feedback information to the Application Specialist Team and product management.


What will convince us:
  • Bachelor's degree in biological engineering, biotechnology or other life sciences related field
  • 3+ years experience in downstream bioprocessing; (TFF, UF/DF, NFF)
  • Familiarity with life science application experiment technology, and a good understanding of hot research topics is a plus
  • Proven experience in a similar position and industry is advantageous
  • Familiar with related products, laboratory processes and equipment
  • Strong learning ability, and expert knowledge base in this area
  • Ability to effectively interface with product / project / division management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Proven software skills, e.g. Microsoft Office

Approximately 40% domestic travel with potential for minimal international travel.
