Full Job Description
This position reports to:
Sales Support Manager

In this role, you will be the technical lead at consulting engineer, end user, EPC and design build customers, ensuring ABB products and solutions achieve a preferred/ acceptable manufacturer status in project specifications.

You will work closely with the local sales team and must be proficient in applying MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers and arc flash mitigation technologies. This support will extend to markets such as healthcare, data center, industrial, utility and commercial construction.

The work model for this role is: Remote

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with consultants, end users, utilities, EPC/DBC firms, and engineering teams to develop and specify ABB low- and medium-voltage power distribution solutions, providing design support, product selection, value engineering, budgeting, and technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and review electrical system designs, one-line diagrams, schematics, layouts, equipment specifications, and budgetary estimates; serve as the subject matter expert for MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, motor control, UPS, ATS, PSG, and power monitoring solutions.
  • Lead technical engagement and customer education initiatives by delivering presentations, Lunch & Learns, and industry thought leadership; mentor Field Application Engineers and provide advanced support on power system studies, including short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash mitigation analyses using SKM and EasyPower.
  • Drive business growth and strategic decision-making by evaluating project technical, financial, and risk considerations, championing assigned product lines, leveraging Salesforce (SFDC), and communicating customer insights, market trends, product opportunities, and competitive gaps to commercial and product management leadership.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably Electrical) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Engineering (electrical distribution industry preferred) or a Master's degree in engineering with 4 years of experience in the same.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards; ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, UL preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to consider multiple viewpoints and resolve technical issues.
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
  • Must be willing to travel ~25% of the time but ability to visit customers in local area regularly.
  • Capability to establish and nurture partnership relationships with the regional engineering consulting community is required
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
