Job DescriptionThe Family Learning & Communication Lead is a core contributor to Matter's Family Learning & Communication service line and to the firm's long-term vision. You work with client families and their teams to direct multi-year learning and communication work, facilitate family meetings, and build long-term learning plans for each family. You also serve on the Family Learning & Communication committee, help train Matter's client teams, and take part in strategic initiatives that help Matter innovate and evolve its practice.
Responsibilities- Facilitate and support family meetings, communication training, multigenerational mission and vision planning, and family governance
- Direct multi-year family learning and communication work, and develop a long-term learning plan for each family
- Partner with client teams on a strategic plan to develop each family's human capital, individually and collectively, and help execute it using internal and external resources
- Develop content internally and with outside experts for use with Matter families and employees
- Create, publish, and distribute content that builds trust, communication, and preparation skills for Matter families
- Contribute to Matter's blog, newsletters, and the broader multi-family office industry
- Serve on the Family Learning & Communication committee and help train Matter's client teams
- Support industry events and business development as needed
Qualifications- 5+ years working with multi-generational families and/or executives on communication, culture, governance, family dynamics, and/or succession planning
- Background in industrial psychology, coaching, family business consulting, meeting facilitation, or a similar discipline preferred
- Deep curiosity about the challenges facing UHNW families, with a pragmatic and empathetic approach to helping individuals and families move forward
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
- MA, PhD, MSW, or MBA preferred
