Director, Behavioral Health at St. Louis Children's Hospital for BJC HealthCare

Looking for a strong behavioral health/psych/social work/case management leader who has strong strategic leadership skills.

Oversight includes:
  • Psychology Department
  • Social Work
  • Chaplains
  • Child Life Specialists

Role Purpose

Has administrative responsibility for delivery of patient care and facilitation of all activities within Behavioral Health and related family services. Directs the leaders of clinical activities in behavioral health and family services to promote high quality and efficient care of patients. Develops care practices that assure the highest level of safety and quality, patient satisfaction and a strong culture of teamwork among nursing, medical and support personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Analyzes financial performance including profitability, market share, utilization of resources and physician practice patterns, and makes plans to positively impact results.
  • Leads and directs overall operations of psychology, social work, chaplaincy, child life, and child development programs and services. Sets strategic direction and ensures necessary resources are in place to support the departments' goals.
  • Analyzes trends and statistics to promote efficient utilization of resources and promote quality improvement.
  • Ensures effective coordination and collaboration with other departments and the medical staff.

Education
  • Master's Degree

Experience
  • 5-10 years

Supervisor Experience
  • 5-10 years

  • Doctorate
