Full Job Description
Family Law Associate

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience practicing law in a private firm setting and a demonstrated interest in providing advice and counsel to clients with a broad spectrum of family law issues. Successful candidates will have experience representing clients before judicial officers and in mediations, drafting discovery, drafting pleadings, preparing financial disclosures, working with experts, and conducting settlement negotiations. This person will collaborate with others in the family law group to achieve the best possible results for our clients.

Requirements
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the State Bar of California
  • Demonstrated ability to handle client matters independently and effectively
  • Proven ability to collaborate with other attorneys and experts to identify legal issues and plan case strategies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially in court settings


Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in all aspects of family law cases including divorce, custody, and domestic violence, complex financial issues, estates, cryptocurrency, closely held businesses, VC funds, and sophisticated executive compensation packages
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail
  • Prepare for and engage in settlement negotiations, hearings, and trials to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in our family law group to deliver the best results
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and community engagement


Location

This position can be based in any of our offices: Silicon Valley (downtown San Jose), Tri-Valley (Pleasanton), or Peninsula (San Mateo). Travel between locations may be necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $245,000. This range reflects the firm's good faith estimate of potential compensation, which may vary based on experience, qualifications, and skill set.
