Full Job Description
Basic Function

Manages assigned projects for facility rehabilitation and upgrades at existing METRO facilities, with a primary focus on interior and exterior facilities rehab / repairs. Manages all contract and in-house project work. Interacts with internal customers, Facilities Maintenance Staff, and Security to execute the job. Perform duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.

Responsibilities and Specific Duties

  • Manages the execution of assigned projects related to facilities interior and exterior rehab, including but not limited to, facility painting, replacement of ceiling tiles, light fixtures, replacement and or installation of carpeting, ceramic tile, VCT, linoleum, wooden and or laminate flooring, cove base, windows, doors.
  • Installation of iron and or chain link fencing, vehicle and pedestrian gates, replacement in kind of industrial equipment.
  • Prepares scope of work and estimates for assigned facilities interior and exterior rehabilitation related projects following METRO's Standards.
  • Works with Procurement to secure vendor agreements, either purchase order, work authorization and or contract to execute assigned projects.
  • Follows Project Management principles.
  • Manages budget cost and schedules of the assigned project/s. Approves invoices of properly complete project/s.
  • Works with City and County agencies to secure appropriate building permits, approvals, etc.
  • Assists with the coordination of project activities between department/divisions (Planning, Construction, Contracts, etc.) through all project phases.
  • Prepares project technical documentation and reports. Ensure the handover of all documentation to Facilities Maintenance Staff is properly managed.
  • Ensures all projects are properly complete / closed out with the written satisfaction of the internal customer and the Facilities Maintenance Staff.
  • Participates in interdepartmental and outside agency meetings.
  • Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers.
  • Applies SMS (Safety Management System) methods and principles in daily routine and supports all aspects of the agency's Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP).
  • Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Pay Rate: 79,200-104,000


Education Requirement

High school or GED required. Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, manufacturing, construction, or related field preferred.

Years & Experience Required

Minimum of eight (8) years progressive experience in project management in Facilities Management related projects. Proficient in estimating projects using software used in project line item. Book unit pricing preferred. Advance skills to read blueprints and facility drawings.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required or ability to obtain PMP certification within one (1) year. Requires a valid Texas driver's license. Knowledge of project management software.
