This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Level II Civil Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will support the design and construction of new site infrastructure under the supervision of a licensed engineer. This role is ideal for someone who has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and is committed to pursuing a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Key Responsibilities:- Design Support:
- Assist in the preparation and review of construction documents, including plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Contribute to the design of site infrastructure such as roads, drainage systems, utilities, and retaining structures.
- Project Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure project goals are met.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on design approaches and problem-solving.
- Technical Tasks:
- Perform calculations and analyses to support design decisions.
- Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to create and modify design documents.
- Field Support:
- Assist in site visits to gather data, monitor construction progress, and ensure compliance with design intent.
- Prepare field reports and provide recommendations based on observations.
- Professional Development:
- Pursue continuing education and professional development opportunities to advance toward obtaining a PE license.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, or ability to pass within a year
- Ambition to obtain a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering (internship or co-op experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with site design and construction documentation.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to civil engineering projects.
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green infrastructure.
- Experience with industry standard softwares such as ICPR, WaterGEMs, etc.
