Experienced Systems Engineer

Position Responsibilities
  • Develop, capture, and maintain clear, verifiable system and subsystem requirements in coordination with design, safety, certification, and program stakeholders.
  • Translate top-level requirements into component level requirements, verification criteria, and acceptance conditions with full traceability.
  • Manage suppliers technically through design, test, and component qualification activities, including supplier selection support, technical oversight, issue resolution, and corrective action tracking.
  • Lead and support component and subassembly qualification/certification: test planning, procedure development, witness testing, non-conformance resolution, and supplier audits.
  • Support system-level testing and qualification (integration, environmental, lifecycle, and performance testing) and ensure requirements-to-test traceability.
  • Perform system analyses including FMEA, fault tree analysis (FTA), reliability modeling, and performance assessments to support design and qualification.
  • Prepare qualification artifacts, compliance matrices, and test reports for internal and external reviews and support certification/safety activities.
  • Manage technical risks, schedule impacts, and change control for escape system deliverables.
  • Occasional travel to supplier sites and test facilities as required.


Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 4+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing suppliers through design and component qualification processes.
  • Strong technical writing skills for test plans, procedures, qualification reports, and compliance matrices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to lead supplier technical discussions and resolve issues.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Knowledge of appropriate customer or governmental regulations relevant to design, test, and certification of Escape Systems (e.g., ASME, MILSPEC, etc.)
  • Experience in Critical Safety Systems
  • Prior experience with pyrotechnic or rocket motor components and qualification
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in design, development, or qualification of escape/egress systems or other safety-critical aerospace systems.
  • Proven experience developing requirements and verification/validation plans with bi-directional traceability.
  • Hands-on experience with system-level analysis: FMEA, FTA, reliability and performance modeling.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $112,200 - $151,800
