Experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer (PE Preferred)

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a highly motivated engineer who enjoys solving challenging problems, working on a variety of projects, and partnering directly with clients to design and implement practical solutions.

What You'll Do
As an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer, you will lead and support electrical and control system projects from concept through implementation. Your typical week will be spent supporting a variety of projects by:
  • Developing electrical and control system designs for industrial facilities
  • Designing and reviewing control enclosures, power distribution systems, network architecture, and field installations
  • Selecting field instrumentation and developing associated wiring and installation requirements
  • Reading, modifying, and troubleshooting PLC and HMI applications as required during project execution and testing
  • Developing and executing verification and test plans for internal and field testing activities.
  • Producing and reviewing engineering deliverables including calculations, drawings, specifications, and project documentation
  • Ensuring designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and client requirements
  • Evaluating code requirements and applying engineering judgment to achieve compliant and practical solutions
  • Participating in client meetings, site visits, startup activities, and field support efforts.
  • Supporting proposal development and assisting with business development activities as needed
  • Representing aeSolutions professionally while working with clients, vendors, and project teams
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant electrical engineering and industrial controls experience
  • Experience with low-voltage power distribution design
  • Experience with field instrument selection, application, and wiring design
  • Ability to review, interpret, and apply applicable industry codes and standards, including NFPA requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
  • 7-12 years of experience in industrial automation, controls, instrumentation, or electrical system design.
  • Experience with critical systems such as:
    • Boiler systems
    • Burner management systems
    • Fire and gas systems
  • Experience supporting industrial manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering efforts.
  • Experience conducting field investigations, startup support, or commissioning activities.
