Position Description

As an Estimator/Project Manager, you'll lead the planning and execution of diverse construction projects. Your mission is to deliver exceptional results that are safe, timely, and profitable while exceeding client expectations. This is your opportunity to lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Preconstruction

    • Manage all aspects of bid preparation, including reviewing project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
    • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and proposal submissions using software such as HCSS Heavy Bid®, BlueBeam, Agtek, and MS Office Suite.
    • Conduct site visits and pre-bid assessments to gain an accurate understanding of project scope and conditions.
    • Collaborate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure competitive and compliant bids.
    • Support project handoff meetings, ensuring a seamless transition from estimating to project execution.


Project Oversight & Execution

    • Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with field operations to optimize workflows and meet deadlines.
    • Oversee subcontractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to contract requirements, budgets, and safety standards.
    • Act as the primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams, fostering strong working relationships.
    • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, submittals, and billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Lead regular project meetings to review progress, address challenges, and drive solutions.
    • Utilize project management software such as HCSS Heavy Job®, HCSS Plans®, and Vista™ by ViewPoint to track project performance and financials.


Financial & Risk Management

    • Monitor project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting within Vista™ by ViewPoint to maintain profitability.
    • Assist in contract negotiations, subcontractor agreements, and change order management.
    • Identify project risks early and implement proactive solutions to mitigate delays or cost overruns.
    • Analyze cost trends and historical data to refine estimating strategies.


Operational Efficiency & Safety Compliance

    • Promote and enforce Park Construction Company's safety culture, ensuring OSHA compliance.
    • Work closely with field teams to troubleshoot operational challenges and drive process improvements.
    • Implement best practices in estimating and project execution to enhance efficiency and project success.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new construction technologies.


Team Leadership & Development

    • Mentor and support junior estimators, project managers, and field personnel.
    • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing work environment.
    • Lead project meetings to ensure team alignment on objectives and deliverables.


Client & Stakeholder Relations

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
    • Ensure client satisfaction by proactively addressing concerns and maintaining open communication.
    • Represent Park Construction Company at client meetings, industry associations, and networking events.


Position Requirements

Technical & Operational Expertise

    • Experience in civil, commercial, and industrial construction estimating and project management.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, efficiency, and profitability.


Financial Acumen

    • Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting at a project level.
    • Strong negotiation skills in contracts, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
