Job Summary:

The ERP Solution Team Lead - Oracle Cloud is responsible for helping to design and implement our Oracle ERP Fusion Cloud solution to ensure the proper delivery of the solution meeting business and technical requirements. This resource will work with the system integration team to validate the solution design to ensure it is implemented leveraging leading practices to build a secure, highly available, and performant ERP Cloud solution. This position resides in ERP Portfolio Management of the Information and Technology Services (ITS) and reports to the Director of ERP Portfolio Management. This is a full-time, exempt position that will be paid for time worked on a salary basis.

The ERP Solution Team Lead - Oracle Cloud will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Assist in architecting and validating Oracle ERP Cloud-based SaaS solutions to enable cloud solutions to fully meet business and technical requirements with due consideration for performance, security, scalability, and high availability of the solution.
  • Recruit, onboard, and provide direction, guidance, and strong leadership performance management to the Technical team to ensure robust learning and career development consistent with the CPS values and mission; foster collaboration and effective integration of efforts with division-wide initiatives.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, ERP Cloud Vendors, and third-party solution providers, as well as system integrators, to define and design CPS ERP Cloud technology footprint as part of the implementation roadmap.
  • Work with Business Analysts, SMEs, and technical members to manage project workstream solutions.
  • Define standard operating procedures for making key design decisions in compliance with enterprise architecture standards and allowing Oracle and non-Oracle technologies to integrate seamlessly.
  • Lead Solution Design workshops and build technical strategies for conversions, integrations, reports, and extensions leveraging the Oracle SaaS platform for a large and complex Oracle Fusion implementation.
  • Lead the design of Oracle Fusion solutions for Procurement, Inventory, Projects and Grants Management, Asset Management, HCM, and Payroll to address public sector-specific needs.
  • Develop end-to-end functional architectures that integrate seamlessly with existing systems and processes.
  • Ensure solutions comply with public sector regulations, procurement policies, and asset management standards.
  • Build solutions designs and support complex Oracle ERP SaaS solutions to address business requirements.
  • Design solutions for streamlined procurement processes, including supplier management, sourcing, and contract lifecycle management.
  • Implement workflows for approvals, compliance checks, and vendor onboarding specific to public sector requirements.
  • Enable automation of procurement reporting and audits in line with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure accurate project cost allocation, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Implement robust tracking for public sector project funding and resource utilization.
  • Develop architectural artifacts (blueprints, roadmaps, strategies, white papers, presentations, etc.) for the CPS ERP Transformation Program.
  • Proactively contribute, recommend, and identify risks and solutions associated with proposed or existing software application strategies.
  • Other duties and workstreams as assigned.

In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Solution Team Lead - Oracle Cloud must possess the following qualifications:

Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Master's of Business Administration preferred.
  • One or more Oracle Fusion Cloud certifications in the following areas are preferred: Financials, Accounting, Project Management, Talent Management, Payroll, and Recruiting.

Experience Required:
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of ERP solutions experience in Oracle Cloud ERP/Oracle EBS, including:
    • A minimum of five (5) years of experience architecting and designing complex IT solutions on Oracle ERP Cloud stack.
    • A minimum of one (1) recent end-to-end full life cycle experience as an Oracle Fusion Solution Lead implementing Oracle Fusion Financials, and Procurement Cloud Services.
  • Experience leading Technical Solution Design workshops and building technical strategies for conversions, integrations, reports, and extensions leveraging the Oracle SaaS platform for large and complex Oracle Fusion implementations.
  • Experience implementing, customizing, and maintaining Oracle Fusion technology solutions across multiple end-to-end Oracle ERP Cloud implementations.
  • Experience building RICE for Fusion Financials and SCM modules.
  • Experience with modern development and testing techniques such as continuous delivery and continuous integration.
  • Oracle Cloud Financials and Supply Chain implementation experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing Commercial Off The Shelf Packaged SaaS solutions.
  • Experience designing and implementing third-party SaaS solutions such as Hexagon Enterprise Asset Management, GrantsNow, and Workforce Software, preferred.
  • Experience in Education (K-12) ERP Oracle Fusion Cloud Implementation, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of several different applications and subject matter expertise in relation to one or more categories of applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge required to leverage Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) to design and implement cloud and on-premises application integrations.
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Expertise across all RICE design/ development on Oracle ERP Cloud tech stack.
  • Strong business background
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.
  • Strong understanding of full life-cycle project development, including requirements, design, development, testing, and roll-out
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Structures, module-specific configurations, ability to do requirement analysis, and deliver functional design documents of the mentioned modules.
  • Ability to quickly understand the business requirement and to design solution concepts
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in multiple business processes
  • Ability to architect and design technology solutions and manage cross-functional teams, projects, and vendor management.
  • Ability to Lead and design Cloud ERP and other third-party SaaS-based Project solutions, manage all aspects of Program BRIDGE Oracle Fusion and third-party applications, support, and operations, including planning, designing, implementing, integrating, testing, and supporting and maintaining various functions.


Conditions of Employment

As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to:
  • Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.
