Main Purpose of the JobThis role serves as an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist, supporting and coordinating compliance, performance, and capability development across factory operations.
The Specialist drives the implementation of Corporate standards, interpret regulations, standardization, and continuous improvement of Safety, Health and Environment systems.
The role provides advice, support, technical expertise, strategic direction, and oversight to sites, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, Nestlé policies, and SH&E management systems.
It fosters a culture where safety, health, and environmental sustainability are embedded as core business values and operational priorities.
Key Outputs / DeliverablesSafety, Health and Environmental Governance & Compliance Leadership
- Serve as a corporate contact and technical resource for safety, health and environmental compliance
- Guide sites on SHE related policies, procedures, and compliance including:
- Regulatory reporting, permits, and compliance obligations
- Monitoring, inspections, records, and routine follow-up
- Audit readiness, system conformance, and compliance assurance
- Advise sites during inspections and audits, including gap closure.
- Support safety investigations and corrective actions for incidents, spills, releases, and non-compliance.
Integrated SH&E Risk Management- Support the integration of environmental risk with safety and health risk frameworks.
- Partner with operations to update and maintain risk assessments for:
- Environmental aspects and impacts
- Safety and Health risks
- Operational and project changes affecting permits, waste, emissions, wastewater, utilities, or controls
- Review changes to identify compliance needs and controls before implementation.
- Analyze safety and environmental trends to reduce risk proactively.
Management Systems & Continuous Improvement- Drive implementation and improvement of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and SH&E systems across sites, including:
- Standardize SH&E standards, procedures, and best practices
- Use consistent audit tools, gap reviews, tracking, and readiness processes
- Track and close system and compliance gaps on time
- Partner with sites to manage environmental aspects, impacts, and controls
Capability Building & Culture- Develop SH&E training and guidance to build compliance, systems, and audit readiness.
- Build site capability to:
- Interpret and apply environmental, safety and ISO requirements
- Manage compliance systems, prepare for audits, and close gaps
- Promote environmental stewardship, accountability, and disciplined follow-through.
Stakeholder Engagement & Corporate Influence- Act as corporate liaison with:
- Regulatory agencies
- External consultants and legal council
- Partner with SH&E, operations, engineering, maintenance, and other functions on compliance.
- Coordinate auditors, consultants, and other resources on assessments and corrective actions.
- Integrate environmental and SH&E requirements into business processes.
- Support ESG/sustainability reporting and alignment with corporate priorities.
Data, Reporting & Performance Management- Drive consistent environmental KPI tracking, accuracy and reporting across sites.
- Serve as backup for NestCare reporting.
- Support compliance activities, audits, and management reviews.
- Use data to identify trends, recurring gaps, and improvement opportunities.
Measurements / Performance Indicators- Close audit findings and gaps on time
- Complete reporting, permit deliverables, and records accurately and on time
- Improve ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 maturity and audit readiness
- Deliver effective environmental and management system training
- Reduce repeat findings, non-compliance, and overdue actions

Qualifications / Experience- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance or a related SH&E function in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of applicable EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Experience in manufacturing operations and operational processes
- Professional certification in environmental, safety, or industrial hygiene disciplines is preferred
- Travel up to 75%
