Full Job Description
We have an excellent opportunity for an EnvironmentalManager at our Orlando, Florida facilities. This exempt position will report directly to the Business Environmental Leader, and will be responsible for providing technical and engineering support in environmental matters at the Pennsuco facility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage and lead the environmental efforts for the Pennsuco facility in compliance activities by assigning responsibilities and ensuring task completion.
  • Interface as the company advocate for environmental issues with regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet environmental requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance problems, questions, or complaints received from within the company, customers, government regulatory agencies and/or the public
  • Develop and implement a program to regularly evaluate environmental compliance at the assigned facilities, effectively communicate issues of non-compliance to management, and track completion of necessary corrections
  • Ensure environmental monitoring, reporting, and record retention is successfully completed.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures
  • Train company employees on relevant environmental issues and regulations, including related company policies.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of Federal, state, and local environmental and land use laws and regulations.
  • Review and analyze current and proposed permits, laws, and regulations, effectively communicate impacts to management and work collaboratively with operations to provide a plan of action.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans for respective areas.
  • Assist management in implementing environmental improvement programs to promote increased environmental performance.
  • Effectively manage the training and development of skills, knowledge and abilities within the department
  • Determine effective methods to correct out of compliance issues.
  • Coordinate with Production and other Operation departments.
  • Travel to our different locations within Florida (25%)


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Sc. degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related fields is required
  • (preferably cement, aggregates, or concrete)
  • Must have excellent leadership and management skills
  • Knowledge of air quality and water standards, monitoring, and reporting
  • Ability to independently learn and understand technical, regulatory, and external issues regarding the environmental programs at the plant
  • Ability to positively interact with regulatory agencies to ensure understanding of requirements and obtain achievable compliance requirements
  • Ability to independently audit and inspect industrial operations, identifying compliant or non-compliant environmental issues, and effectively communicate those findings to management
  • Ability to independently develop, lead, and implement effective environmental compliance strategies and management systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate required compliance activities to plant employees who are tasked with performing them
  • Ability to prepare environmental permit applications, reports, and other communications for submittal to external parties including regulatory agencies
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external parties in a collaborative, positive manner, representing the Company's interests


Experience:
  • 5-7 years of experience in Environmental Engineering positions in heavy industrial installations.
  • Experience managing complex Title V permits, NSP/PSD permitting, and working with multiple CEMS and associated DAHS
  • Experience and demonstrated ability managing environmental programs
  • Working knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Local Regulations
