Enterprise Quality Manager The Senior Quality Manager provides quality leadership for the Lorton, VA operation while supporting the performance and effectiveness of the Enterprise Quality organization. The position leads enterprise quality compliance, audit readiness, quality reporting, corrective action, and continuous improvement while providing quality support to programs and ensuring customer, contractual, and quality management system requirements are effectively implemented. The position works closely with the Director of Quality and Quality organizations in Massachusetts, as well as Program Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other functions across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support enterprise quality compliance activities, including AS9100, ISO 9001, CMMI, DCMA, customer, and other applicable audits and assessments.
- Coordinate audit preparation and execution, including process owner engagement, objective evidence, findings, corrective actions, and follow-up.
- Support maintenance and maturation of the Enterprise Quality Management System and compliance with contractual, regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.
- Support the internal audit program and ensure findings and corrective actions are effectively addressed.
- Establish and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting for leadership and program reviews; identify trends, systemic issues, and emerging risks.
- Drive systemic corrective actions and continuous improvement in partnership with Quality, Program Management, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.
- Provide quality leadership and support to assigned programs, particularly prototype, development, and low-volume production activities.
- Support development and implementation of program quality plans and ensure customer and contractual requirements are understood and appropriately flowed down.
- Work closely with Supplier Quality Engineering and Inspection on supplier, incoming, in-process, final, and product quality issues as appropriate.
- Provide senior quality leadership and a strong local quality presence for the Lorton operation while supporting enterprise Quality priorities across locations.
- Mentor quality professionals and serve as a senior technical resource across the organization.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering, quality management, manufacturing, engineering, or a related technical environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading quality activities across multiple programs or organizational functions.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience supporting or leading external and internal audits and corrective action activities.
- Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis, quality metrics, and continuous improvement.
- Experience working with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, and/or Supply Chain to implement customer and contractual requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with CMMI and/or DCMA assessments.
- Aerospace, defense, government contracting, or other highly regulated industry experience.
- Experience with enterprise Quality Management Systems and certification management.
- Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.
- Experience with quality metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
- Experience supporting prototype, development, NPI, or low-volume manufacturing environments.
- Internal or Lead Auditor training/certification.
- Experience with Lean, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with GD&T, engineering drawings, configuration management, and manufacturing processes.
