SUMMARY:

The Engineering Technician V will work directly with the Government personnel in meeting the engineering needs of the project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for Data Acquisition and Analysis in support of Weapons Systems and Munitions Testing.
• Contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work.
• Reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others.
• Completed work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements.
• Utilizes project leadership and organizational skills.
• Handles projects and resolves associated issues, promotes accountability, and meets strict deadlines.
• Ensures comprehensive data-driven recommendations for process enhancements, thus maximizing results and supporting strategic decision-making.
• Trains and may be assisted by lower-level technicians.
• Designs, develops, and constructs major units, devices, or equipment.
• Conducts tests or experiments.
• Analyzes results and redesigns or modifies instrumentation to improve performance and reports results.
• Develops designs for instrumentation without critical performance requirements from general guidelines and specifications (e.g., size or weight requirements).
• Uses untried and untested measurement techniques to assess the ability to improve/upgrade instrumentation capabilities.
• Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems.
• Prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc.
• Plans or assists in planning tests to evaluate weapons systems and munitions performance.
• Conducts tests using all types of instrumentation.
• Analyzes and evaluates test results, and prepares reports on findings and recommendations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:
• Associate's degree, OR equivalent training/experience with a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certifications related to specific areas of T&E equipment and technology (e.g., Certified Test Technician) is desired.
• Nine (9) years of proven experience in performing non-routine and complex assignments, involving responsibility for planning and conducting complete projects of limited scope or segments within larger projects, particularly focused on T&E.
• Extensive technical design and development expertise, specifically related to T&E equipment and setups.
• Advanced knowledge of test equipment and procedures, with hands-on ability in conducting and overseeing diverse testing methods to ensure best practices in the T&E processes.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, applied particularly to resolve challenges in T&E processes and equipment, providing innovative, reliable solutions.
• Demonstrated project management and leadership skills, demonstrating the ability to manage complete projects and segments effectively.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively and train lower-level technicians, ensuring technical standards are upheld throughout the teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers, providing insights and support to achieve optimized testing outcomes, encouraging cooperative efforts in line with best practices.
• Technical acumen in instrumentation and methodologies related to T&E.
• Demonstrated strong skills in using untried and untested measurement techniques.
• Any Military operations experience preferred.
• Experience in designing and overseeing sophisticated test equipment, such as advanced data logging systems or automation-integrated T&E setups preferred.
• Involvement in testing and troubleshooting military-grade systems preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
