Overview

As an Engineering Senior Project Manager at Civil & Environmental Consutants, Inc. (CEC) in our Monroeville, PA office, you’ll be involved in the design, analysis, permitting, and preparation of drawings and technical specifications for waste disposal facilities, including municipal solid waste (MSW), medical waste, hazardous waste, coal combustion residual (CCR) and industrial facilities.  You’ll be interacting with clients, contractors, and local government officials, you’ll impact the entire project from conceptual to design to regulatory permitting and review process, and then bidding and construction. You will be responsible for working in a team environment in which you will be leading and mentoring younger staff, reviewing their work, and collaboratively delivering projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  •  Lead design, analysis, permitting, and construction-phase services for municipal, residual CCR, and industrial waste management facilities
  • Oversee the design of landfill systems including soil and geosythetics liners, leachate and stormwater infrastructure, gas collection systems, site roadways, and support structures
  • Prepare permit applications, design reports, construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, and solid waste management plans
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and coordinate agency review processes while mentoring junior staff and supporting project delivery
  • Assist our engineering team with site development and geotechnical engineering projects.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in the design, permitting, document preparation, and construction quality assurance (CQA) of waste disposal facilities
  • Proven ability to coordinate regulatory agency review and permitting processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or with ability to obtain a Pennsylvania licensure
  • Understanding of consulting project business practices and project delivery methods
  • Strong project management and leadership capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in proposal and report writing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Autodesk Civil 3D
