JOB DESCRIPTION

PacSci EMC, a Ralliant company, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Sustaining Design Engineering and Engineering Services teams in Chandler, Arizona. This role guides technical execution across production support, design sustainment, configuration management, root cause investigation, and continuous improvement while ensuring engineering priorities align with business goals and product technical requirements.

The Engineering Manageroversees and guides the Sustaining Design Engineering and Engineering Services teams, ensuring projects align with business goals and product technical requirements. The candidate will be responsible to ensure that production programs and factory cells are fully supported throughout the entire value stream from component procurement through product manufacturing, test and final shipment to the customer.In addition, the individual is also responsible for managing the department budget and project tasks assignment within the allocated timelines.The individual plays a pivotal role in leading the team, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Responsibilities Include

  • Manages the Sustaining Design Engineering and Engineering Services teams

  • Proven ability in the robust application of mechanical and ordnance products design fundamentals and analyses in order to continuously reduce product variability, while maximizing performance in an aerospace and defense environment
  • Manages the disciplined application of failure investigation root cause and corrective actions implementation, while leading a culture of robust design configuration baseline and continuous improvement
  • Promotes a culture of positive results through the proper application of the business system tools and processes as standard work
  • Demonstrated team development, guidance and mentorship skills
  • Ensures team has the tools and knowledge to successfully execute their role
  • Creates work culture were individual learning and personal growth is a priority

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline - Master's degree is a plus
  • 3+ years of demonstrated leadership of a technical team
  • 7+ years of demonstrated expertise in the application of Mechanical/Ordnance Design Engineering principles
  • Significant aerospace and/or defense product manufacturing experience in a low-volume, high-mix environment is preferred
  • Experience with Toyota Production System or other continuous improvement system with demonstrated results using Lean and/or Six-Sigma principles
  • Demonstrated knowledge in reading and applying engineering design practices such as drafting principles and GD&T
  • Demonstrated results using design risk reduction tools such as DFMEA, DMF and DOE
  • Demonstrated results using failure analysis processes such as RCCA and FRACAS
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate and drive to necessary decisions to progress team forward
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and effective facilitation skills
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/PLM systems and reporting tools, MS Office and MS Project
