OverviewThe Santa Rosa Metrology Services Team provides electrical and mechanical metrology services that support Keysight's advanced manufacturing and technology development organizations. In partnership with R&D, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, andOperations teams, this organization develops next-generation measurement, calibration, and production solutions that enable Keysight'shighest performance products.
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of electrical and mechanical engineers responsible for:
- Advanced process development and technology insertion
- Manufacturing engineering support and problem resolution
- Next-generation product and calibration solution development
- Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) and Design-for-Testability (DFT)
- Metrology innovation and measurement system advancement
- Continuous improvement of manufacturing capability, quality, and productivity
This leader will serve as the technical bridge between product design, R&D, manufacturing operations, and metrology services, ensuringscalable processes and robust technologies are developed to support future business growth.
ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Strategy- Develop and execute the engineering roadmap supporting future product technologies, manufacturing capabilities, and metrologyadvancements.
- Partner closely with Design Engineering and R&D teams to develop next-generation products, calibration standards, andmanufacturing technologies.
- Drive technical innovation, automation, and process modernization initiatives.
- Establish engineering strategies aligned with business growth, manufacturing scalability, and technology roadmaps.
Process Development & Manufacturing Engineering- Lead development, qualification, and deployment of new manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, automation, andmeasurement systems.
- Drive root cause investigations and resolution of complex production, quality, yield, and technical issues.
- Support manufacturing operations through structured problem-solving and technical risk mitigation.
- Develop robust process controls and ensure successful transfer of technologies from development into production.
New Product Introduction (NPI)- Lead engineering participation in NPI programs.
- Ensure successful execution of:
- Design Reviews
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Design for Test (DFT)
- Process Validation
- Pilot Builds
- Production Readiness Reviews
- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations teams to ensure smooth product launches and scalable manufacturing solutions.
Metrology & Technical Excellence- Maintain technical excellence and competency in electrical and mechanical metrology disciplines.
- Drive continuous improvement of measurement methodologies, uncertainty reduction, calibration processes, and standardscompliance.
- Evaluate and implement advanced measurement technologies supporting future product requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, environmental, and measurement standards.
Organizational Leadership- Build a high-performing engineering organization capable of supporting both current manufacturing needs and future technologydevelopment.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop engineering talent.
- Establish succession plans, technical career development paths, and skills advancement programs.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence- Manage engineering resources, priorities, budgets, and capital plans.
- Lead cross-functional technical projects across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain organizations.
- Drive productivity improvements, cycle time reduction, cost reduction, and process capability improvements.
- Ensure adherence to Keysight quality systems, safety requirements, and operational standards.
Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's Degree or University Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or other applicable engineering discipline or equivalent directly relevant experience as a manager, supervisor and/or individual contributor.
- Requires proven skills in leading/managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics
- Understanding of manufacturing, metrology and quality processes
- Direct experience with continuous process improvement a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
