About the Role:
The Manager, Integrated Modular Solutions Engineering leads the engineering of Maverick Power's integrated modular power solutions, including eHouses, ePods, eSkids, and related prefabricated power modules serving mission-critical data center applications.
This role owns the technical execution of the complete solution lifecycle: specification review, concept development, electrical and mechanical design, manufacturing integration, factory acceptance testing, shipment, field installation support, commissioning, and applicable certification/listing activities. The Manager leads a cross-functional team of electrical and mechanical engineers and coordinates internal functions, external engineering firms, equipment suppliers, contract manufacturers, and field partners to deliver safe, scalable, configuration-controlled products.
The ideal candidate understands the evolving AI data center market-including hyperscale, colocation, and Neocloud deployments-and can translate power-density, availability, deployment-speed, constructability, and lifecycle requirements into repeatable modular product platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical and mechanical engineering team responsible for eHouses, ePods, eSkids, and integrated modular power assemblies.
- Establish technical direction, design standards, configuration rules, and design-review gates for modular product platforms and project-specific configurations.
- Own system-level technical scope from customer specification through commissioning, including defined package boundaries and interfaces to utility, generation, medium-voltage distribution, low-voltage distribution, transformers, UPS, cooling, controls, fire/life safety, site civil, and customer systems.
- Ensure electrical and mechanical designs are coordinated, manufacturable, transportable, installable, serviceable, and suitable for factory testing before shipment.
- Direct integration of MV and LV power distribution, including switchgear, switchboards, transformers, protective relaying, controls, monitoring, grounding, cable systems, and auxiliary power systems, as applicable to project scope.
- Direct engineering of enclosure, structural steel, floors, roofs, access systems, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, lighting, security, environmental protection, cable routing, lifting, rigging, transport, and site anchorage interfaces.
- Lead technical development for AI data center power architectures, including high-density load growth, redundant distribution topologies, utility-interconnection constraints, rapid deployment, standardized power blocks, and future expansion.
- Own engineering support for applicable U.S. codes, standards, AHJ requirements, customer specifications, and NRTL listing/certification paths. Ensure ratings, compliance, and listing claims are supported by configuration-specific evidence.
- Establish design-control discipline: requirements traceability, design verification plans, calculations, drawings, BOM control, change control, interface registers, risk registers, and lessons-learned feedback.
- Lead technical reviews of short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash, grounding, thermal, structural, seismic, wind, snow, HVAC, and other studies required by project and product scope.
- Define and approve factory acceptance test requirements; participate in FATs, resolve nonconformances, and ensure test records provide defensible configuration-compliance evidence.
- Provide technical leadership through shipment, field receiving, rigging, installation, energization, SAT, commissioning, and warranty issue resolution.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Project Management, Sales, Service, and R&D to improve first-pass yield, schedule adherence, cost, safety, product quality, and field-installation performance.
- Lead technical negotiation and scope definition with external engineering firms, equipment suppliers, contract manufacturers, and third-party manufacturers; establish clear statements of work, deliverables, interfaces, design authority, review requirements, quality expectations, and intellectual-property protections.
- Develop supplier technical capability, capacity, qualification, and quality plans for critical integrated-module components and external manufacturing partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience in power distribution, modular power systems, eHouses, packaged substations, switchgear/switchboards, data center infrastructure, or comparable mission-critical infrastructure.
- Minimum of 5 years engineering leadership experience managing electrical and mechanical engineers or multidisciplinary product-development teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading complete engineered products from specification through design, manufacturing, testing, field installation, and commissioning.
- Strong technical knowledge of MV and LV power-distribution systems and their integration into prefabricated or modular structures.
- Working knowledge of applicable U.S. electrical, building, fire/life-safety, structural, and occupational-safety requirements, including relevant NEC, NFPA, UL/NRTL, IBC, and ASCE requirements for the product scope.
- Experience supporting U.S. listing/certification programs, including the discipline to distinguish listed equipment from a listed or evaluated integrated assembly.
- Proven ability to lead complex external engineering and manufacturing relationships, negotiate technical scope, and hold suppliers accountable to quality, documentation, schedule, and cost commitments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer license.
- Experience with hyperscale, colocation, cloud, AI, or other high-availability data center infrastructure.
- Experience with UL 1558, UL 891, UL 1008, UL 508A, or other standards relevant to Maverick's specific product scope.
- Experience with protective-relay applications, power-system studies, EPMS/SCADA/BMS interfaces, cybersecurity requirements for operational technology, or digital-twin/BIM workflows.
- Experience with structural design and environmental qualification of modular buildings, including seismic, wind, snow, coastal, dust, and extreme-temperature applications.
- Experience with lean product development, configuration management, product-platform architecture, or scalable engineered-to-order systems.
- MBA, master's degree in engineering, or formal project/program-management credential.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.
Work Environment:
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods. The above-noted job description is not intended to describe, in detail, the multitude of tasks that may be assigned but rather to give the applicant a general sense of the responsibilities and expectations of this position. As the nature of business demands change so, too, may the essential functions of the position.
