The invoices and payments teams work closely with Nvoicepay, which provides backing payment processing capabilities for the broader Corpay ecosystem. This role requires a leader who can manage delivery across related domains, coordinate dependencies across teams, and help maintain a strong connection between product priorities, engineering execution, system reliability, and customer outcomes. In this role, you will report directly to the Vice President of Technology in the Corpay Complete division.

How We Work

  • Managing team execution in an agile/scrum environment, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, delivery tracking, dependency management, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Helping guide the teams through Corpay's AI-first software development transformation, including practical adoption of AI-assisted development tools, engineering workflows, quality controls, and team operating norms.
  • Leading through influence, coaching, clear expectations, and accountability rather than by personally taking over technical work.
  • Working with product partners to translate business priorities into realistic delivery plans and predictable execution.
  • Ensuring the teams maintain a healthy balance between roadmap delivery, operational stability, technical debt reduction, production support, and long-term platform health.
  • Coaching engineers and technical leaders on execution, design thinking, production ownership, engineering discipline, and professional growth.
  • Driving clarity around priorities, commitments, risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and delivery status.
  • Creating a high-accountability team culture built on collaboration, ownership, transparency, and measurable outcomes.
  • Supporting production readiness, incident follow-up, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of systems and processes.
  • Helping the teams adopt AI-assisted engineering practices responsibly and effectively, with attention to quality, security, productivity, engineering discipline, and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience managing software engineering teams that deliver production software in a business-critical environment.
  • Strong technical credibility in modern web application development, preferably including Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, APIs, databases, CI/CD, observability, and cloud-based operations.
  • Ability to understand technical architecture and engineering tradeoffs without needing to be the primary designer or daily coder.
  • Experience partnering with Product Management to deliver in an agile/scrum environment, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, dependency management, delivery tracking, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage two related engineering teams across invoice and payment domains, balancing roadmap delivery, operational stability, technical debt, production support, and team development.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, hiring, feedback, performance management, career development, conflict resolution, and building a healthy team culture.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams, product partners, senior leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage dependencies across multiple teams or platforms, especially where product workflows span multiple systems or ownership boundaries.
  • Interest in AI-first software development and the ability to help teams adopt AI-assisted engineering practices pragmatically, responsibly, and measurably.
  • Payments, fintech, accounts payable, invoicing, vendor payments, or payment-processing domain experience is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading two or more teams, or managing multiple workstreams across a broader engineering group.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails and React-based systems.
  • Experience with AWS-based application environments.
  • Experience working with payment processing, invoice workflows, AP automation, vendor payments, or financial operations systems.
  • Experience improving engineering practices such as automated testing, CI/CD, observability, incident management, secure coding, code review, and technical debt management.
  • Experience helping teams adopt AI-assisted development tools, coding assistants, test generation, documentation automation, or AI-supported SDLC practices.
  • Experience working with distributed systems, integration-heavy platforms, or domain workflows that span multiple teams.
