The ADAS Data Infrastructure team builds and operates the foundational systems that power autonomous vehicle development. We create scalable platforms, services, and data pipelines that ingest, process, store, and serve large-scale sensor data from vehicle fleets to engineering teams across the company. We build the platforms and services that transform vehicle data into usable datasets for autonomous vehicle development.
Role:
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team that builds the data platform supporting autonomous vehicle development. You will set technical direction and own delivery and operations of high-scale data pipelines and backend services for camera, LiDAR, and vehicle telemetry data. You will grow and coach a team of software engineers, and partner with ADAS, ML, and platform customers to turn their needs into a clear roadmap.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers. This includes hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and feedback.
• Own the roadmap, prioritization, and delivery of data ingestion, processing, storage, and serving platforms.
• Support the architecture for Python and AWS-based backend services, APIs, and data tooling. Review designs and drive engineering best practices.
• Own the reliability, observability, performance, and cost of production services.
• Partner with internal customers (ADAS, perception, ML, and data engineering) and external vendors to gather requirements and set expectations.
• Manage storage, compute, and data movement budgets and capacity planning.
• Drive CI/CD, infrastructure automation (IAC), and operational excellence across the platform.
• Plan resourcing and run planning and execution rituals. Report status, risks, and progress to senior leadership.
• Build a culture of ownership, quality, and collaboration, and stay hands-on enough in code and design reviews to guide technical decisions.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing or technically leading engineering teams.
• Track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing engineers.
• Strong technical background in Python and in building and operating backend services, distributed systems, or large-scale data platforms.
• Experience with AWS, IAC Tools like Terraform / OpenTofu, and with deploying applications to Kubernetes.
• Experience with Airflow or similar workflow orchestrators, and with designing data pipelines, ETL systems, or data processing frameworks.
• Experience with containerized applications, microservices, and event-driven systems.
• Experience owning production services, incident management, and operational metrics.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and influence stakeholders.
Preferred:
• Experience in the autonomous driving or automotive industry, specifically backend and cloud development.
• Strong ownership mindset, with experience driving projects from design through production operations.
• Experience building distributed systems or data platforms that process large-scale datasets in cloud environments.
• Experience managing budgets or cloud cost optimization.
• Experience managing teams that serve ML or autonomy data workflows.
