Engineering DesignerWater/Wastewater Infrastructure Practice is seeking an
Engineering Designer in
Salt Lake City, UT, to support a major, multi-year transportation improvement program in Utah.
Working with experienced engineers, and project managers, this role will help advance utility-relocation design as a result of a major roadway widening project from engineering concepts through coordinated construction documents. The successful candidate will use OpenRoads Designer as a core production and design platform in a fast-paced design-build environment.
This position is expected to support a major design build transportation project with an anticipated duration of approximately 1-2 years. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-profile design-build effort with significant public impact. Continued employment beyond the project will be based on business needs and available work.
What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:- Develop design deliverables using OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation, including civil models and coordinated plan sheets.
- Review survey information, utility records, maps, reports, record drawings, test results, and other technical information needed to advance design.
- Assist with utility identification, relocation design, and coordination with public agencies, utility owners, contractors, and internal technical disciplines.
- Coordinate with roadway, structural, drainage, traffic, environmental, survey, and construction teams on multidisciplinary design packages.
- Work within established project standards, delivery requirements, budgets, and accelerated milestone schedules.
- Communicate design issues and progress clearly to task leads and project managers.
What You BringRequired Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- 1+ Years of experience with OpenRoads Designer.
- 0-3 years of professional engineering or related experience.
- Working knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals and the ability to interpret plans, survey data, and technical information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively with multiple disciplines.
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver quality work in a schedule-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- 1+ Years of experience with OpenRoads Designer.
- 0-3 years of professional engineering or related experience.
