Full Job Description
The Engineering Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager and have the responsibility to develop, implement and measure critical engineering and maintenance processes and programs at the Morris facility. Be accountable for the implementation of maintenance and engineering best practices in order to assure the desired level of plant reliability. This role will be responsible for managing the maintenance and capital budgets along with hiring and direct supervision of project contractors and managing the overall PSM contractor program. In support of the plant quality management system (ISO 9001) will provide ongoing troubleshooting, repair and quality improvement projects of and for plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize maintenance to be the most effective for completing EH&S work orders, PM's and daily maintenance.
  • Work with Plant Manager/ Production Manager to establish mechanisms for measuring downtime and manage continuous improvement.
  • Manage the maintenance budget including forecasting of maintenance spending. Maintain all plant P&ID's.
  • Execute capital plan as best defined by completing assigned projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Responsible for the capital budget management, as well as for the capital planning, CAR submission and all project related activities.
  • Responsible for cash flow forecasting of all project spending and closing projects upon receipt of the last invoice associated with each project.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance as required by PSM, ISO9001 and sound engineering and business practices.
  • Establish and monitor maintenance objectives for continuous improvement. Continue to utilize the Bightly for Maint. software
  • Coordinate onsite contractors and manage the overall PSM contractor program.
  • Provide Technical/Engineering Support to Maintenance and Unit Operations.
  • Purchase orders, invoices, receipts, reconciling invoices
  • Other duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned


Education and Experience
  • B. S. Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
  • 10 years or more of experience in Engineering and Maintenance matters at the plant level with strong background in Engineering and Maintenance management.
  • Background in capital projects management.
  • Strong background in EHS and PSM.
  • Demonstrated success in leading continuous improvement in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong team player, independent worker requiring minimal day-to-day direction or oversight.
  • SAP experience
  • CMMS programs
