JOB OVERVIEW
The Tooling Engineer supervises the planning, development, deployment, and execution of new tools, changes to existing tools, and the maintenance of existing tools.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all new tool builds and ensure tools are delivered to internal specifications and best practices within timelines.
- Head responsibility for tooling engineering required for production lineassistance.
- Head responsibility for tooling inclusive of test tooling on allotted machines plus lines.
- Perform toward enhancing entire part quality to reduce scrap as well as rework.
- Establish and execute strong manufacturing client focus across the department and in support of plant-wide operations.
- Manage a tooling maintenance scheduling and tracking system that is visual,accurate, and adequate to meet all internal requirements.
- Responsible for contacting tooling vendors for repairsin a timely manner, and securing competitive quotes for repairs being performed
- Ensure to provide cost-effective and high-quality technical support to all customers on time.
- Maintain andcomply withhigh standardsfor housekeeping and safety resulting in a safe and clean atmosphere for all employees.
- Ensure to pay careful attention to the entire shop floor bottlenecks.
- Support to reduce conversion costs and enhance process equipment OEE.
- Convey detailed relevant information to upper management
- Write toolingmethodologyplus specifications for new tooling manufacturing.
- Support with scheduling,interactwith vendors, and various daily functions.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering or related technical field; or equivalent combination +5 years of related experience and education and/or training.
- Proficient in MS Office
- Approaches challenges and decisions logically, with a sense of proportionality and good judgment
- Ability to define problems, collect data,establishfacts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be fluent in English (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills and ability to prepare clear, informative, and logical papers or reports on departmental or technical matters.
Job Demands:
Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
