Full Job Description

The Sr Engineer 6 Mechanical supports full product lifecycle responsibilities for JLG 6s Boom current production portfolio. Execute engineering support for business continuity efforts, participate in continued product compliance efforts, and contribute to functional, reliable and cost-effective designs for incremental product development. Perform engineering analysis, root cause determination, and design (or re-design) of components/systems/solutions for existing products. Provide integration and execution support for machine and component design within the context of a platform/system engineering team.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Participate as individual contributor on engineering team that collaborates with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Product Managers, and Compliance teams in support of business continuity and customer satisfaction efforts.
  • Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to JLG as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
  • Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity.
  • Responsible for managing multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
  • Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers, designers, or technicians working on a common project.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Perform and directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance for production support.
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
  • Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records.
  • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular onsite attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field with three (3) or more years of related experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-equipment design and related systems (Examples: Fabrications, powertrain, drivetrain, hydraulics, electrical, controls, reliability, etc.)
  • Experience with a high-level CAD system (Examples: Creo Parametric, Catia, NX, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and/or hands-on engineering experience
  • Familiarity with construction industry and various trades that participate within commercial building projects
  • Highly organized with exposure to project management best practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate well within a team environment

Pay Range:

$73,200.00 - $117,800.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidates experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
