Job Description

We are seeking an Engineer/Scientist IV.

Located on-site in Chesapeake, VA.

ESN is seeking an Engineer/Scientist IV to support a contract with Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), Atlantic, in Norfolk, VA. The contract to support NIWC LANT consists of Independent Validation & Verification, Operations, Sustainment, and Installation support. The Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) systems provides near real-time material-based readiness reporting to the Defense Readiness Reporting System-Navy (DRRS-N) and provides three additional primary capabilities to the Fleet including Ashore and Afloat systems. This support includes manual and automation of software testing, Scrum Master, operating in the AWS Cloud, management of JIRA/JAMA/Confluence, and project support.

Experience Requirement:
  • Ten (10) years of experience in software maintenance to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support.
  • Specific experience with DoD C4ISR, maintenance, logistics, or business systems preferred.
  • Five (5) years of technical experience in support of complex software applications and solutions.
  • Experience and knowledge executing Agile software methodology and principles.
  • Experience may be achieved simultaneously.

Education & Certification Requirements:
  • BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Network Security, Information Systems or Computer Science.
    • Software Engineer or computer related degrees only: Working towards the following certifications within one and a half year after assuming duties:

Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)/ Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Sun Certified Professional (SCP), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CISCO Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Certified SAFe Agile Software Engineer, Certified SAFe DevOps Practitioner, Certified SAFe Architect, and Foundational, Associate or Professional Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications.

Security Clearance:
  • Must hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET clearance.
