Engineer, ResearchValencia, California - HYBRIDJoin Advanced Bionics as an
Engineer, Research and help develop innovative software and firmware solutions for cochlear implant systems and implantable hearing technologies. You will work in a collaborative research environment alongside software developers, DSP engineers, scientists, and clinicians to evaluate emerging technologies and advance the future of hearing healthcare.
Responsibilities- Support the development of firmware and software for cochlear implant systems and other implantable hearing solutions.
- Contribute to software codebases using C and C#/.NET under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist with software verification activities, including unit testing, automated testing, and system testing.
- Troubleshoot software and system issues and participate in root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using version control and software-development best practices.
- Prepare and maintain software requirements, design documentation, engineering records, and test reports.
- Support research projects through prototyping, data collection, analysis, and evaluation of emerging technologies.
- Learn and apply applicable medical-device quality-system and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate engineering records in accordance with internal quality and regulatory requirements.
More About You- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Completed engineering internship with experience in embedded software development for consumer electronic products.
- Strong proficiency in C and C#/.NET.
- Understanding of modern software architecture and software-development principles.
- Experience contributing to complex, high-quality commercial software products.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools, including code-generation or automation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn emerging technologies and systems.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities and contribute ideas that advance team and project goals.
A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is between $79,200 and $99,000.
