Role Purpose

The Industrial Engineer supports manufacturing operations by applying Lean and Industrial Engineering principles to improve product and information flow, reduce inventory, increase capacity, reduce complexity, and lower cost. This role partners across locations and functions to identify productivity opportunities, lead improvement projects, implement process optimization tools, and support manufacturing performance through data analysis, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
• Apply Lean and Industrial Engineering principles to improve product and information flow, reduce inventory, increase capacity, reduce complexity, and reduce cost
• Implement Lean fundamentals such as workplace organization/5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work, and continuous flow
• Lead and/or support project teams focused on process and flow improvements to reduce cost, increase capacity, and improve operational efficiency
• Identify manufacturing-related productivity improvement opportunities across processes and locations
• Develop and execute project plans, including requirements, deliverables, resources, timelines, milestones, and risk identification
• Maintain knowledge of current Industrial Engineering methods, tools, and technologies and evaluate their applicability to Corning
• Develop and apply systems, tools, and technologies through successful project execution
• Communicate ideas, recommendations, and project status clearly through written documentation, visual media, and presentations
• Coordinate project team activities and provide facilitation and leadership as needed
• Ensure accuracy and quality of work through a proactive and detail-oriented approach
• Serve as a technical resource and coach for peers and internal customers as needed
• Work effectively across a variety of manufacturing processes, business functions, and site locations to deliver results

Experiences/Education - Required
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or another engineering or technical discipline
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience; internship and co-op experience applicable
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Theory of Constraints concepts and principles
• Knowledge of cycle time reduction, cost analysis, cost modeling, manufacturing and business processes, value stream mapping, line balancing/staffing, and work cell design
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, flexible, and quick learner with strong interest in Industrial Engineering
• Knowledge and application of Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Knowledge of discrete event simulation tools such as SIMUL8, FlexSim, or similar
• Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and related tools

Experiences/Education - Desired
• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
• Knowledge of Python programming
• Experience with data preparation and visualization
• Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, or commercial analytics

The range for this position is $68,958.00 - $94,817.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
