Job Description:

The High Reliability and RF Group (HRR) is Microchip's power systems division, delivering high-performance power management solutions for space, aerospace, and other mission-critical applications. The Program Manager leads cross-functional teams through the execution of design, development, and manufacturing programs. This role is responsible for program planning, schedule and budget management, customer communication, and overall program performance. The position serves as the primary interface between customers and internal stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:
  • Overall project management responsibilities including planning, leading teams to implement deliverables, task completion, and maintaining effective communications with Microchip and customer stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain timely status reports on programs
  • Track material and labor expenditures and review cost reports
  • Working with finance team, prepare monthly ETC/EAC calculations
  • Prepare program resource reports and financial reports on programs
  • Monitor technical progress in support of design development programs
  • Monitor major manufacturing programs
  • Generate and maintain program schedules (IMS)
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and sales forecasts
  • Conduct program meetings and design reviews
  • Be the focal point for customers on programs and manage all correspondence with customers
  • Understand industry specifications as they apply to assigned products and processes
  • Liaise with Functional Managers and Business Development personnel to build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the projects
  • Correspond with key customers in a timely manner to define specifications, provide status updates and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Domestic and International travel may be required


Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical or electrical preferred)
  • 3-5 years of program/project management or engineering team lead experience in the aerospace field
  • Strong expertise using MS Project
  • Good working knowledge of various contract types: Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Plus, Time & Material (T&M) contracts
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS or certificate in Project Management highly desired
  • Experience interfacing with accounting and finance functions
  • Familiarity with high reliability electronics manufacturing processes
  • Experience with design/development programs in power electronics
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
