Our Water/Wastewater team is looking for an Engineer I to join our team in Roanoke or Blacksburg, Virginia. In this role you will perform design and project delivery for a wide range of water/wastewater projects, including facilities upgrades, water distribution systems, and sewage collection systems. Essential Functions- Prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications for water and wastewater pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment facilities
- Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to water and wastewater systems
- Assist with the preparation and review of technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Assist with project management activities for select tasks and develop project management skills for expanded responsibilities
- Support field testing and investigations when required
- Support construction projects with office engineering services (submittal review, contract document interpretation, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders) when required
- Communicate effectively and coordinate with the project team including other disciplines, such as cost estimators, structural engineers, CAD designers, and others
Required Skills and Experience- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field
- Zero to two years of experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water and wastewater facilities and conveyance infrastructure (pipelines, force mains, and pump stations)
- A self-starter, versatile, and interested in working on a variety of projects supporting our Water and Wastewater Group
- A solution minded individual with an appetite for learning and growth
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills required
Preferred Skills and Experience- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit

Salary Range: $35 - $42/hr.
