Job Overview & ResponsibilitiesAt ULA, as the
Product Owner for the Artemis Emulator Integration team, you will work with the Responsible Systems Engineer and the Product Owners of the Integrated Test Environment (ITE), Flight Computer Emulation (MSIM2), and Avionics and Fluid-Mechanical Simulations (Sims) teams to integrate software models of ULA's Centaur V subsystems into a framework that supports hardware-in-the-loop testing and all-digital integrated vehicle training simulations. Core responsibilities include:
- Define and communicate the product vision and strategy to stakeholders and development teams.
- Serve as arbiter of the integrated team's priorities.
- Work with the ITE, MSIM2, and Sims Product Owners to plan program increments, sprints, and goals for each.
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is prioritized based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.
- Translate business goals and customer needs into technical specifications and user stories.
- Ensure requirements are clear, actionable, and aligned with the product vision.
- Continuously refine and prioritize backlog items to adapt to changing requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and development teams, ensuring alignment and understanding of product goals.
- Use customer insights to shape product features and prioritize development efforts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Report on product performance to stakeholders and recommend actionable improvements.
Required EducationBachelor
Required Years of ExperienceMinimum of 4 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications- A Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a related technical field from an accredited college or university
- Experience working as a Product Owner in an agile development environment using an Atlassian tool suite (e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Experience with software development best practices including:
- Git or similar configuration management tools
- CI/CD pipelines, test automation, containerization, release deployments
- Experience with systems engineering practices such as:
- Requirements development and decomposition
- Interface definition and ICD interpretation
- Traceability and acceptance criteria creation
- Experience collaborating across hardware, software, and systems teams
- Working knowledge of C, C++, Python, and object-oriented design principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or related technical field from an accredited college or university
- Experience as a Product Owner working in a scaled agile development environment using an Atlassian tool suite (e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Experience developing, validating, or supporting real-time software systems
- Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama, JIRA, etc.)
- Experience authoring, executing, or reviewing IV&V plans
- Experience presenting complex system/software architectures to internal and external stakeholders
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denveronly): $107,865.00 - $179,775.00
