Plaintiff-Side FEHA & Wrongful Termination Litigation $120,000-$170,000 Base Salary + Generous Performance Bonuses + Year-End Bonus We are seeking an ambitious Employment Law Associate Attorney with 1-4 years of experience to join our Single-Plaintiff Wrongful Termination Department. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney who wants more than a narrow research-and-writing role. You will receive meaningful responsibility, direct client contact, hands-on litigation experience, and the opportunity to develop into an independent case manager-with the training, resources, and supervision needed to succeed. We give our associates real responsibility. The attorney selected for this position will be trained to manage cases from intake through resolution under the supervision of a senior attorney. The Role You will represent employees in single-plaintiff employment matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblower claims, and other violations of California employment law. This position offers the opportunity to work on cases through every phase of litigation while developing the practical skills necessary to become a confident and successful employment litigator. Responsibilities - Handle a caseload devoted exclusively to plaintiff-side employment litigation - Investigate and evaluate potential employment claims - Develop litigation and settlement strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys - Draft complaints, discovery, motions, briefs, mediation statements, settlement agreements, and other legal documents - Conduct and defend depositions - Represent clients in administrative proceedings, negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings - Communicate directly with clients and provide thoughtful, compassionate counsel - Prepare cases for arbitration and trial - Participate in trials and gain meaningful, hands-on trial experience - Conduct thorough legal research and analysis - Work collaboratively with attorneys and staff to move cases toward successful resolution - Maintain litigation deadlines and manage cases efficiently - Stay current on developments involving FEHA, whistleblower protections, and other California employment laws Qualifications - Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school - Active membership in the California State Bar and good standing - Approximately 1-4 years of employment-law experience - Experience handling FEHA, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower, or wrongful-termination claims - Plaintiff-side employment experience strongly preferred - Strong knowledge of California employment law and civil litigation procedure - Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills - Deposition experience preferred - Ability to manage competing deadlines and exercise sound professional judgment - Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail - Confidence interacting with clients, opposing counsel, mediators, arbitrators, and courts - Genuine empathy for clients and a commitment to representing employees - Motivation to learn, accept responsibility, and develop into an independent case manager Compensation and Benefits The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000-$170,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive base salary, the firm offers a generous performance-based bonus structure that gives associates the opportunity to meaningfully increase their total compensation. Exceptional results, initiative, productivity, and contributions to the firm are recognized and financially rewarded. Associates are also eligible for a separate year-end discretionary bonus. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available for this role. Our in-person structure is intentional.
