Job Summary and Responsibilities

As ourEmergency Department Nurse Shift Manager, you will helplead and coordinate our exceptional nursing teamso they candeliver timely, compassionate, and life-saving care to patients in critical situations.

Every day you willoversee patient flow, allocate resources efficiently, manage staffing assignments, and address any immediate clinical or operational challenges that arise.You will be expected tofoster a collaborative and supportive work environment, mentor and supervise nursing staff, ensure adherence to protocols and safety standards, and act as a crucial point of contact for interdepartmental communication.

To be successful in this role, you mustpossess strong clinical expertise in emergency nursing, demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to remain calm and decisive under pressure.

  • Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level.
  • Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
  • Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

Required

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience (ED) as a registered nurse.
  • Active Registered Nurse License in the state of California
  • Basic Life Support - CPR from the American Heart Association
  • ACLS from the American Heart Association
