As an
Embedded Software Engineer III on the Blue Ring program, you will be at the forefront of developing and testing flight software for one of the most capable and maneuverable multi-mission spacecraft ever built. Blue Ring is a hybrid solar electric and chemical propulsion spacecraft designed to maneuver, host, and deploy payloads across Earth orbits, the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Your work will directly shape the software that powers this groundbreaking vehicle - from concept through on-orbit operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded flight software for the Blue Ring spacecraft, including hardware interface layers
- Implement software requirements derived from system-level specifications, ensuring traceability throughout the software development lifecycle
- Develop and execute software unit tests, integration tests, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test procedures to verify software functionality and performance
- Collaborate closely with avionics, systems, and propulsion engineers to define software interfaces and resolve cross-discipline technical issues
- Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and technical peer reviews to ensure quality and adherence to coding standards
- Debug and troubleshoot complex software and hardware/software integration issues in a lab and test environment
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development
- Proficiency in C++ programming in resource-constrained embedded environments
- Experience with Python development for tooling, test automation, or scripting in an engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience developing flight software for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or other safety-critical aerospace systems
- Familiarity with software verification for mission and safety critical standards (DO-178, NPR 7150.2, SMC-S-012)
- Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipeline development, automated testing frameworks, and configuration management tools such as Git, Jenkins, or equivalent
