This role sits directly at the intersection of hardware and software, where embedded code not only runs systems, it moves steel, powers motors, reads real-world sensors, and controls massive tunneling machines operating in extreme environments. Everything we build is developed and manufactured entirely in the United States.
If you're excited by low-level systems, real-world impact, and seeing your code control physical machines, this is a rare opportunity.
Responsibilities- Write robust, production-grade C++ for embedded Linux systems that monitor and control tunneling and mining equipment.
- Work hands-on with real hardware: integrating sensors, power electronics, and control systems.
- Design safety-critical software that operates reliably in harsh, industrial environments.
- Develop and execute test suites for verification and validation of embedded systems.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to bring complex machines to life.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Professional experience developing software with C/C++
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong collaborator with experience working across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and system-level thinking.
- Experience with embedded software for industrial automation or mechatronic systems.
- Experience with embedded software in automotive systems.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Deep expertise in modern C++.
- Strong working knowledge of Git.
- Proficiency with Linux-based operating systems.
- Experience with sensor integration and DAQ optimization.
